Live engagement with CELUS GmbH validates AI-driven proposal development for German innovation grants, with new beta spots now open for govcon consultancies and direct applicants.
London, United Kingdom - April 7, 2026 - BidClever AI today announced the completion of its first AI Bid Writer (ABW) beta engagement with CELUS GmbH, a Munich-based AI-driven electronics design company. The engagement produced a submission-ready grant application in a single working day, down from the multi-week timelines typical of traditional proposal development.
This process ran in two phases. In the first phase, BidClever received the same public application guidelines and brief that CELUS's grant consultants had worked from and independently produced a complete draft using the AI Bid Writer. CELUS evaluated the output and provided feedback which informed the system's calibration. In the second phase, CELUS provided a brief for an upcoming German federal innovation grant. Using the calibrated system, BidClever produced a submission-ready application. Both drafts were produced in less than 24 hours.
The engagement surfaced a critical design insight. Left unchecked, AI-generated drafts can over-position an applicant by committing to overly specific technologies, methodologies, or projected figures. While this can strengthen a bid on paper, it risks constraining the applicant's flexibility in how they actually deliver the project if awarded. As a result, the AI Bid Writer now includes controls that balance competitive positioning with operational flexibility for the applicant, producing submissions that are strong enough to win, without creating future delivery constraints which could consume company resources unnecessarily.
"The goal was not to write faster, but to create a draft proposal in a way that gives evaluators exact information needed to score a submission highly, while leaving enough flexibility for the company to execute the project on their own terms. With CELUS, BidClever demonstrated that this is the exact method for success, and that a submission-ready application can be delivered in less than 24 hours, rather than the typical several weeks timeline."
The AI Bid Writer works alongside BidClever's Tender Relevancy Scorer, which helps organizations identify high-fit opportunities before committing resources to a response. Together, the two modules create a pipeline from opportunity discovery through to a completed draft proposal, reducing the time and cost associated with pursuing tenders and grants.
"Clearer visibility into research and grant opportunities supports our strategic planning. Working with BidClever AI allowed us to explore this in a structured way while participating in the platform's early development."
BidClever AI is now accepting applications for organizations to join the next AI Bid Writer beta cohort. The program is open to govcon consultancies, technology companies, and direct applicants pursuing government tenders or grant funding across US, EU and UK markets. Participating organizations will work with live opportunities and receive hands-on support throughout the process.
